Faculty Member Among 40 under 40 Awardees recognized by Public Health Organization
Joni Roberts seeks to better the lives of other people, especially women of color, in both her academic and advocacy roles.
Cal Poly Kinesiology and Public Health faculty member Joni Roberts has been named among the cohort honored in this year's Boston Congress of Public Health’s 40 Under 40 Public Health Catalyst Awards.
In her academic and advocacy roles, Dr. Roberts seeks to better the lives of others, especially women of color.
Roberts focuses her research on understanding how social factors influence health and identifying practical solutions to address these inequalities. Her work includes examining the complex relationship between sexual health, physical activity, and interventions for obesity.
She has also published journal articles with Cal Poly students in the BCPH Review (formerly Harvard Public Health Review), which can be found here and here.
