Daniel Radcliffe’s Weird Al Yankovic Transformation
The actor Daniel Radcliffe is playing Weird Al Yankovic in an upcoming biopic. The Harry Potter star was spotted on set recently after the streaming service Roku announced Weird: The Al Yankovic Story with Radcliffe attached to star. Yankovic co-wrote the biopic himself with screenwriter Eric Appel. Yankovic is best known for his musical parodies of chart-topping songs, as well as his accompanying parody music videos. He was born and raised in Los Angeles and earned a degree in architecture at Cal Poly (ARCH ’80) , where he also became a radio DJ and, eventually, a singer-songwriter.
Construction Management Alum Garret Tomforde Joins Marsh Bell Construction as COO
A graduate from the CAED Construction Management program, Garret Tomforde (CM ’06) joins Marsh Bell Construction—a firm that focuses on transparent, decisive decision making as the key to obtaining the best possible value for its clients—as COO. He has 15 years of experience in construction, including serving as a project executive for a general contractor in the California Bay Area.
ARCE Grad Garrett Peterson Promoted Within Lund Opsahl
Structural design firm Lund Opsahl recently announced several promotions on its team, including Garrett Peterson, who has been promoted within the engineer-in-training program. Peterson began working for Lund Opsahl as an intern in 2018 and joined the team as an EIT after graduating from Cal Poly (ARCE ’19). According to the firm, he has provided strong contributions to a variety of projects, including King County Parks Central Maintenance Facility Expansion, Island County’s new Camano Administration Building, and the Intercity Transit Pattison Maintenance, Operations, and Administration project.
