Application for International First-Year Students

Cal Poly’s application for first-year students is open from Oct. 1 – Dec. 2  through Cal State Apply, the application for all CSU campuses. We do not have a separate international application. International first-year students are only eligible to apply for the fall quarter.

Get Started

  1. Choose a Major
Cal Poly requires you to choose a major on your application. Explore our majors and choose a program of study with our Major Finder.
  2. Review Selection Criteria
Review our selection criteria to ensure you are maximizing your opportunity for selection as well as placing the correct information on your application.
  3. Gather Application Materials
In order to complete your application, make sure you have a copy of your transcripts, current class schedules, test scores, and household annual income.
  4. Apply
Cal Poly accepts undergraduate applications online through Cal State Apply from Oct. 1 – Dec. 2. Late applications are not accepted, and we can’t make changes to your application once it is submitted. You may also want to look through our application resources for first-year students for tips on how to complete the application.
