International Academic Evaluations

First-Year and Graduate Applicants

First-Year and Graduate applicants are not automatically required to submit an international academic evaluation to complete your application. If an evaluation is required, you will be notified via email. The item will then be added to your “To-Do” list on your My Cal Poly Portal.

Transfer Students

Transfer applicants are automatically required to submit an international academic evaluation to complete your application.

How to Submit Your Evaluation

International credentials must be evaluated by the World Education Services, Inc. (WES). Order the evaluation appropriate to your status, and the agency will send them directly to Cal Poly.

  • First-Year Students: Request the “Document-by-Document” Report
  • Transfer Students: Request the “Course-by-Course” Report
  • Graduate Students: Request the “Document-by-Document” Report

In addition to this evaluation, your international university must be recognized by the International Association of Universities in order to be considered for admission at Cal Poly.
