Consumer Information Annual Notice

Life as a Cal Poly student is best when you're well informed.  We've compiled all the information you need below, for easy access. If you'd like a paper version, please contact the department listed within each section. 

Fees - Cal Poly and the CSU try to keep student costs to a minimum. However, when public funding is insufficient, published schedules of fees and student accounts may need to be increased. Cal Poly and the CSU reserve the right to increase or modify any listed fee, without notice, (including after initial fee payments have been made) until the quarter in question has begun. All CSU listed fees should be regarded as estimates, subject to change upon approval by the Board of Trustees. For information about current fees please visit Cal Poly's Cost of Attendance page. Our Net Price Calculator is also available to help students and families calculate the expected costs of attendance.

Financial Aid – Cal Poly’s Financial Aid Office is committed to helping current and prospective students obtain financial assistance available from Federal, State and institutional sources to support the cost to attend Cal Poly. Student Privacy Rights - The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) protects the privacy of student education records. FERPA is a federal law that applies to all schools that receive funds under an applicable program of the U.S. Department of Education. To learn about how Cal Poly protects your confidential education records, visit the Cal Poly Registrar website. Graduation, Retention, and Transfer Rates - Information regarding graduation, retention and transfer rates for all California State University campuses can be accessed on the CSU's Data Center website. In addition, you can also find Cal Poly specific information on our Institutional Research Dashboards. To request additional and/or a printed copy of degree completion and graduation rates for Cal Poly students, email the Office of Institutional Research at [email protected].

Academic Programs, Faculty, Registration, Transferring Credits, and Articulation -  Cal Poly's academic programs pages provide information about faculty in each major and provide links to department websites.  University accreditation information can be found on the Institutional Accreditation page. Our registration page provides an overview including deadlines, how to register for classes, and includes links for further information about adding or dropping classes, withdrawing from one or more classes and the forms required for these processes. For more about Cal Poly's articulation agreements with other academic institutions, visit the transfer admissions and articulation pages. Athletics - In compliance with the Equity Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA), the Athletic Department at Cal Poly reports required information to the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) and directly to prospective students being offered an athletic grant and to their parents. Information on the participation rates and financing of Cal Poly intercollegiate athletic programs may be found at the U.S. Department Education EADA website. Reports on completion and graduation rates for student athletes are available on the NCAA website.
