Cal Grants
The California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) awards Cal Grants to eligible California residents based on financial need determined on your FAFSA or California Dream Act Application.
In order to qualify for a Cal Grant, you must file the FAFSA or California Dream Act Application and verify your high school GPA by March 2 of your senior year. If you have a current Cal Grant award, you don’t need to complete a GPA verification every year, but you do need to file the FAFSA or California Dream Act Application yearly.

- Create your account on CSAC's site WebGrants for Students and make sure Cal Poly is listed as your school of attendance.
- Check your WebGrants for Students account to see if your award is on hold. There should be instructions regarding how to release the hold.
- Check your Cal Poly To-Do list. If you have been selected for verification, submit the requested documents as soon as possible as we are not able to confirm eligibility for your Cal Grant and award it until after verification is completed.
Cal Grant Enrollment Specifications

If you increase to 12 or more units during the add/drop period, you will automatically receive the full amount. If you remain with less than 12 units, your Grant will be pro-rated based on the number of units in which you are enrolled at the end of the add/drop deadline for the quarter.
